Although I watch over this Know Your Farmers blog, I’m not an expert “farmer”. Here’s a question for you. I have been pretty unsuccessful at growing tomatoes on my property on Saybrook Point. Sandy soil, plenty of sun. I use organic soil and “bagged” manure – products bought from garden centers. My neighbors across the street always have GREAT crops! They buy seedlings from farms, I buy mine from Walmart.
Is that my problem? I’m pretty sure I keep up with everything!
Any words of wisdom out there for tomatoes! Thank God I’m not trying to subsist on my farming!
