High Hopes Therapeutic Riding

The mission of High Hopes is to improve the lives of people with cognitive, physical, and emotional disabilities through the benefits of therapeutic horseback riding and other equine-assisted activities, while serving the therapeutic riding profession through training and education. At High Hopes, therapeutic riding and other equestrian activities benefit the bodies, minds and spirits of people with disabilities.

High Hopes operates 12 months of the year on a semester basis. There is a 6-week winter semester, a 12-week spring semester, a 6-week summer semester and a 12-week fall semester.
Take Exit 70 from I-95 N/US-1 N, use the middle lane to turn left onto CT-156-W. Turn right onto US-1 N (0.7 Miles). Turn left to stay on US-1 N (2.3 miles). Turn left onto Town Woods Road. High Hopes will be on the left.
A charitable nonprofit organization, High Hopes is governed by a 19-member all-volunteer Board of Trustees, and managed by a professional staff of 31 paid employees, of whom 13 are full-time. The staff is augmented by over 675 active volunteers who further support daily operations and 27 unique horses.
Beginning as a group of nomads with borrowed horses, High Hopes has become a leader both in providing therapeutic riding services and in setting the standards for service, training and education in the profession. They have achieved ambitious goals, especially over the last decade, and have made significant progress toward a comprehensive strategic plan.
